The stellar jewel of Auriga M37 is one of the richest open clusters visible from the northern hemisphere. Located in the constellation Auriga, at a distance of approximately 4,500 light-years, it contains several hundred stars sharing a common origin. With an estimated age of 300 to 400 million years, M37 is considered a relatively mature open cluster. Unlike younger and looser clusters, M37 stands out due to its high stellar density and the notable presence of red giant stars, clear indicators of advanced stellar evolution among part of its population. This diversity makes M37 a remarkable natural laboratory for studying the life cycle of intermediate-mass stars.
